Thomas Jefferson has six dancers that will be attending the Iowa Dance Team Solo Championship in Newton Iowa on November 2nd.

“Performing a solo is a big deal, it takes a lot of guts and these dancers have put months of practice into their routines,” said Dance Coach Michaela Patterson.

The six girls dancing are seniors Aubrieanna Flanagan and Hailey Watts, juniors Kaya Markuson and Jeanette Rice, and sophomores Daijanay Rodriguez and Jayde Kraft.

“There are 65 soloists in their division this year,” said Patterson. She continued that there are “over 1,062 soloists total. They are nervous but I am so excited for them.”
