Graduating high school seniors have a chance to be one of the hundreds receiving a scholarship through Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation (SWIEF). 

This scholarship can apply to any graduating seniors in the southwest Iowa community. All you have to do to apply is to look up Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation (or click here), and click on the first website that pops up and it will take you right there. 

Senior counselor Mrs. Carla Hartenhoff explains the next steps after an application has been submitted. 

“After the student completes the original application for the Southwest Iowa Education Foundation Scholarship, they will receive a follow up email that will share which individual scholarships within the SWIEF they will qualify,” she said.

There may be additional supplemental information that is needed for the individual scholarships. “Students will have a timeline to get the supplemental items to the scholarship foundation,” she continued.

These supplements can range from additional essays, letters of recommendation, FAFSA information, or college acceptance letters.

Applying for these scholarships costs the students nothing, which is  a huge opportunity for college-bound high school seniors who have a hard time financially. This application is live until March 15th.
