Nominations for the 2021 Nelson Family Foundation Excellence in Teaching Awards are now being accepted by Omaha Community Foundation.

Teachers and counselors with at least two years of Certified K-12 experience in the Council Bluffs and Lewis Central school districts can be nominated. Five individuals will be chosen with each receiving a gift of $5,000 and given recognition at an awards program.

Any student, parent, teacher, school administrator, or the public are able to submit nominations. Individuals are able to submit multiple nominations. Due to the cancellation of last year’s award program, nominations in 2020 will be part of the 2021 Excellence in Teaching Awards.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a date for the awards program is not yet determined. The due date for all nominations is Feb 15. The nomination form is available on www.thenelsonfoundation.org.
