Due to the muddy conditions in the wood section this weekend, a new Iowa Western Community College  (IWCC) course had to be made. Lewis Central athletic director, Jim Dermody, and Lewis Central cross country coach Taylor May did an amazing job yesterday putting together the new course on such short notice.

IWCC Cross Country Coach Marc Bierbaum and his IWCC CC runners helped out a lot, too.

Our fellow Jacket boys had a solid outcome, Aiden Booton, a senior, placing 3rd in the race with a time of 16:20. Juan Martinez placing 13th and Hunter Ryba placing 28th, with times of 17:14 and 18:27. Other seniors following behind in the race include: Alex Agulera, and Matt Foster.

Coming in third from CBTJ was Senior Aidan Booton (#15 4A), who clawed just four seconds ahead of Lewis Central’s Ethan Eichorn (unranked this week, but rated 15th the week before).  Booton ran to his third Top three performance of the young season following his championship at the Abraham Lincoln Invite a week ago on the IWCC course & his runner-up spot at the opening Glenwood Invite. He had a season best time by 12 seconds, only three seconds off his career PR today.Booton, fifteenth rated, was able to finish 21 seconds ahead of the fifth rated Gabe Nash, a Sioux City North sophomore today.

Also scooping up a hard earned individual medal was CBTJ senior Juan Martinez with a 13th place spot.  His time was a season’s best by 38 seconds.

Seniors Hunter Ryba & Alex Aguilera galloped to best of year times by 31 & 30 seconds, respectively finishing 28th & 31st.

Freshman Gavin Rothmeyer toured the course in a PR of 20 seconds during his 48th place finish, while Junior Roi Soriano had a best of the year time by eight seconds.
